Daybed Mattress - I Need Sleep Importance of a Good Mattress

Support from a daybed mattress can come in many ways.An innerspring mattress is the most common type of mattress that people purchase to use on a daybed. The amount of coils included in this type of mattress will determine the comfort and support level.

There are other mattresses that do work just as well as the innerspring. A newer form of daybed mattress is created with a rubber core instead of metal springs.

Daybeds are functional, versatile and compact beds that many people opt to use in guest rooms and in many childrens rooms. Apartment dwellers will often choose a daybed that has a trundle underneath. These trundle type daybeds are perfect for small places as the trundle can be pulled up and the bed will easily convert to a king size.

The mattress found on a daybed is usually a twin in size with measurements of 74 inches x 39 inches x 5.75 inches. Bunk bed mattresses will also fit onto the frame of most daybeds but they are not often created with the same comfort level as a twin mattress will offer.

Daybeds were created so that a box spring is not needed; they have a metal or wood frame that the mattress will rest on instead. Some of these frames will have springs attached to them so that they move as a box springs wood when a person rests on them.

These mattresses are said to be more resilient to dust mites, moisture and mildew. These rubber core mattresses also offer the user firm support for sleeping. Some mattresses sold for use on daybeds are created with a mixture of foam and polyester.

The foam used for the mattress creation will usually have several layers included into it.This type of foam mattress will provide a softer support to the bed.

Daybed mattresses are sold in many different thickness levels. The thickness of a mattress will play a major role in how high the bed stands as well as the comfort level of the mattress. Beds with built in trundles should have the same size mattress for both pieces.

This helps to create an even level when the trundle is pulled up to create a king size sleeping area out of the daybed. Trundle beds that are stored underneath the daybed should only be purchased in thickness of 8 inches or less. This thickness size is the exact measurement of space found underneath the daybed frame.
